I was trying to find a compelling photo of Nick and I from that summer, but all I came up with was this one of us - me with an A cut into the back of my hair and sidesteps - riding on top of a moving car.......different times folks, different times. We are now both, for the most part, very responsible individuals.

I met Nick Manning back in Hawaii when we were both Team Leaders for the Hawaii Youth Conservation Corps in 2010. Nick and I forged a life long friendship that summer and keep in close touch to this day. I'm constantly inspired by his adventures and journeys. Nick and his partner Emily Bretl are at it again, heading off on a trip to India with some of their students from Seattle. I myself have learned tons of valuable life lessons from Nick, and would like to think that these kids just might too! If you've got the time, check out their mission here, and if you've got the funds, consider throwing a couple bucks at them. It'll be good for the world!

Here's another of Brother Nick on a ledge hundreds of feet above the Kauai coast...not sure what he's doing. Probably changing the world.

Good times on that trip.
