So I get a lot of questions about what actually happens when I do "field work." It varies a bit, but here's a pretty standard taste. This is a video from this week, working with Luzon Parrot Project. Generally the project is looking to survey various birds throughout the island of Luzon, in order to better direct future conservation efforts. But this week was slightly different, as shown here. We were mainly looking for nest holes of these endemic birds and recording host tree characteristics and the vegetation around it, in hopes that we can get a better idea of where each species prefers to call home. Pretty glamorous huh?

No editing, haven't started playing with that stuff yet. But man, I'm having a great time pretending to be videographer! Thanks to all involved with LPP for letting me hang out with them and complicate their already complex surveys : )
